Vitro Agate Marbles

Vitro Agate MarblesThe Vitro Agate Company was founded in 1932 in West Virginia. They are most famous today for their variety of colorful patch marbles, particularly their early line of Tri-Lites. Later, Vitro utilized veenering with vivid pastel-like colors to produce their tiger-eyes and desirable styles like parrots. Vitro marbles are fun to collect because they are easy to identify yet offer tremendous variety even within a given style. Just when you think you’ve seen them all, you see a stunning new color combination. They have long been very affordable but this may be changing soon as more collectors begin focusing on them. Vitro changed hands several times since 1969 until they were finally purchased by JABO, Inc. in 1992.
